The Social Function of the Ahmediyya-Idrisiyya-Order in Draw city, Southern Egypt "A Field Study in Social Anthropology"

Abstract

<p>The study aimed to achieve its main objective, which is identifying the social function of the Sufi Ahmediyya-Idrisiyya-Order in the Egyptian society, exactly in Draw city, Southern Egypt, and to understand its religious, economic and social functions within the society, relying on several theoretical approaches and methodologies of collecting field data. It relied on the functional structural theory as well as role theory, and the anthropological approach with its various tools such as interview, observation, coexistence within the community, which greatly contributed to identify the main features of the research topic and case study approach.The study aimed to achieve its main objective, which is identifying the social function of the Sufi Ahmediyya-Idrisiyya-Order in the Egyptian society, exactly in Draw city, Southern Egypt, and to understand its religious, economic and social functions within the society, relying on several theoretical approaches and methodologies of collecting field data.
